Reed Longyear is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Family Law practice . Any applicant must have knowledge of Family Law procedure in King County and be comfortable referencing local rules and procedures for other counties.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting pleadings and preparing state forms in various proceedings (dissolution/legal separation, paternity, support modification, DVPO, etc.)
  • Drafting and serving discovery materials (interrogatories and requests for production, subpoenas, deposition setup, etc.)
  • Drafting and preparing trial materials (witness lists, exhibit lists, joint statements of evidence, etc.)
  • Working with clients to obtain necessary documentation to complete discovery requests and satisfy financial source document rules
  • Organizing and managing files, documents, and exhibits
  • Scheduling and meeting deadlines for Family Law case schedules
  • Managing multiple attorney caseloads and deadlines
  • Setting and participating in remote video conferencing proficiently

Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of Family Law litigation experience in King County Superior Court
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required
  • Paralegal Certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of court rules (including King County e-filing, e-service and working copies procedure), discovery processes, and case management
  • Familiarity practice management software (or the ability to quickly learn new software)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • High proficiency with use of calendaring software
  • Familiarity with Family Soft and Adobe Acrobat Pro (useful but not required)

Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually
