- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience with working regulations in several of the following regulatory areas such as privacy, data use, AI, competition, content and financial services.
- Experience advising enterprise or cloud companies.
- Experience in utilizing AI tools to streamline and scale legal support.
- Ability to work on their own and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to support new and emerging regulations, and to develop knowledge on first of a kind issues.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.

The Strategic Growth and Compliance Product Counsel team supports global regulatory compliance across Cloud products. The team advises product, compliance, and other legal teams on regulations that impact the cloud business or cloud customers. This role includes several of the following areas: privacy, AI, competition, content, financial services and regulated verticals, and data use. In this role, you will be advising on analysis, scope, and strategy to build out compliance for regulations in the enterprise space.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000-$312,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities- Advise on a broad range of regulations that may impact cloud products across areas such as privacy, AI, competition, content, financial services, and data use.
- Work with legal and compliance teams across Google to understand Google compliance strategy and advocate for cloud product compliance strategy.
- Advise compliance and product teams with an appropriate risk assessment.
- Advise commercial teams globally on customer concerns regarding compliance, and assist with negotiations as needed.
- Work with other stakeholders and counsels to collaboratively develop strategies.
