Associate General Counsel, Payments & Finance
We are looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving payments businesses. This attorney will counsel Amazon Payments business teams on product and service launches, negotiate complex transactions with financial service partners, and advise on commercial, regulatory, and compliance related initiatives in the payments and financial services space.
Key Responsibilities- Advise the business on regulatory and compliance matters
- Provide product development advice
- Structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements related to domestic and international payment and credit/lending products
- Provide ongoing legal counseling on a wide range of matters
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience with financial services, payments or e-commerce
- Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent
- Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Experience partnering with business leaders in highly complex and dynamic business settings
- Subject matter expertise in commercial and consumer lending regulations, including credit broker, fair lending and consumer protection laws in the US and other geographies
