Position: Employee Benefits Ancillary Analyst I

General Description: Responsible for analyzing information and creating financial and marketing deliverables for the ancillary coverages of smaller clients with less complex benefit programs. Focus is on dental, vision, life AD&DD, disability, and worksite.

Responsibilities
  • Ancillary financial analytics for clients primarily under 300 lives.
  • Prepare standard analyses with minimal customization, including:
    • Market review analysis
    • Rate and contribution analysis
    • Financial, contractual, and rate comparisons and analysis
  • Analyze claims experience data and identify financial performance conclusions.
  • Help drive USI’s panel carrier strategy and process.
  • Manage RFP workload for less complex clients and support senior team members.
  • Serve as primary contact with insurance carriers on new business quotes and renewals.
  • Develop strategic plans and solutions for less complex clients.
  • Negotiate market results with carriers and develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Perform technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships.
  • Participate in the peer review process, primarily as the reviewed party.
  • Keep current on industry information, technology, and trends.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 6 months+ experience in Employee Benefits related field preferred.
  • High school graduate (college degree preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with some instruction.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Life & Disability insurance license within the first six months of employment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.

Salary Range: $63,000 - $70,000

Bonus Eligible – target incentive of 5%

Position is eligible for Paid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave (18 days per year).
