Software Dev Engineer IV

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Software Dev Engineer IV in Seattle, WA.

Overview:
The SDE will help implement an event-driven data retention automation service that ensures the company remains compliant with AWS Marketing data-retention policies across all in-scope data stores. This includes building ingestion of deletion signals from upstream systems, scheduling and orchestrating deletion workflows for account, person, and activity records, and executing deletion and redaction across Dynamo

DB tables and S3 datasets in multiple AWS accounts. The work will establish scalable orchestration, retry and failure-handling mechanisms, and end-to-end audit tracking to meet compliance and operational requirements. We will partner with dependent teams to validate requirements, integrate with upstream signal sources, and support integration testing through production rollout. Deliverables include a production-ready retention automation service with fully implemented deletion workflows, cross-account integrations, and monitoring/alerting to ensure compliance with defined SLAs.

The candidate will provide operational runbooks, dashboards, and on-call guidance to support steady-state operations and incident response. This person will complete end-to-end validation, including integration testing, failure-scenario testing, and compliance verification, and support launch readiness activities to enable a stable production deployment and long-term maintainability.

REQUIREMENTS:

* 5+ years of building backend or distributed systems (or full-stack engineer)

* Event-driven distributed systems on AWS:
Strong experience designing and implementing event-driven workflows using Event Bridge, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions, including orchestration, retries, and failure handling

* Lead data lifecycle & governance:
Experience processing and managing lead/person data (normalization, deduplication, enrichment, suppression, retention/deletion) at scale across distributed AWS data stores

* Production-grade backend engineering:
Proficiency in Python/Java/Type Script and infrastructure-as-code (CDK/Cloud Formation) to build secure, observable, and scalable services

* Strong hands-on with Dynamo

DB and S3 data processing or lifecycle management

* Familiar with monitoring, security, and compliance-driven systems

* Ability to deliver production-ready services and work cross-functionally

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
