Amazon's Price Perception and Evaluation team seeks an Applied Scientist to harness planet‑scale multi‑modal datasets and navigate an evolving competitor landscape, building and scaling a self‑learning scientific price estimation and product understanding system that generates fresh, customer‑relevant prices for billions of Amazon and Third‑Party Seller products worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Research and apply statistical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems.
- Design, build, and deploy innovative ML solutions that provide low prices and increased selection using scientifically based decision making.
- Evaluate solutions via offline benchmark tests and online A/B tests in production.
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large‑scale data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation.
- Publish and present work at internal and external scientific venues.
- 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree with 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
- Experience with patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journals.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, Python or a related language.
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.
- Use of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is $–$ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
