We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Software Development (Level L) to lead our software development team in both greenfield and brownfield projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, project management, and team leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive innovation while also managing existing systems and processes in Seattle, WA.

• Team Leadership
  :
  Manage and integrate employee and first-level manager activities across digital software application development, application analysis and design, information management, architecture, computing security, and project support.

• Project Management
  :
  Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.

• Greenfield Development
  :
  Drive the design and implementation of new software solutions from the ground up, utilizing modern technologies and best practices.

• Brownfield Development
  :
  Manage the enhancement and maintenance of existing software systems, ensuring they meet current business needs and performance standards.

• Strategic Development
  :
  Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures, providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.

• Talent Acquisition
  :
  Acquire and retain digital talent for software application development and management activities, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.

• Supplier Management
  :
  Provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements to enhance software development efficiency.

• Stakeholder Collaboration
  :
  Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports to ensure alignment and support for projects.

• Technical Oversight
  :
  Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

• Employee Development
  :
  Manage and provide developmental opportunities for employees and first-level managers, fostering a culture of growth and learning.

• Risk Management
  :
  Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

• Continuous Improvement
  :
  Promote and implement best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies, Dev Ops practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or another related field required

• 7+ years of experience in software development

• 3+ years of experience building, leading, managing and mentoring high-performance, diverse software development teams

• 3+ years of experience working with Cloud native development

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)

• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and modern development frameworks

• Experience in AI:
  Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., AWS Q, Github CoPilot, Claude CODE) and understanding of AI concepts, algorithms, and applications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
