Overview

Do you enjoy diving deep into Generative AI, solving complex problems, and sharing technical insights with fellow developers? Are you excited to explore how Generative AI will transform how software is designed, implemented, and deployed? If so, then this might be your dream job.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Developer Education for Kiro to define, build, and scale Kiro’s developer experience. You will craft a comprehensive education strategy that helps developers — from first-time explorers to advanced production users — understand, adopt, and master Kiro’s capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, developer experience, curriculum design, and developer feedback loops.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Support, and Marketing to ensure education directly improves activation, retention, and meaningful usage of Kiro.

This is the team responsible for shaping how developers interact with Kiro’s capabilities and ensuring education informs product growth and user success.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Curriculum Design:
Define and continually refine Kiro’s developer education strategy and long-term roadmap. Build compelling, structured learning paths and own the developer learning experience as a strategic lever for product growth and trust.
  • Technical Education Content:
Produce high-impact education artifacts including tutorials, walkthroughs, how-to guides, best-practice playbooks, code samples, interactive labs, and videos. Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable lessons and partner with engineering to align content with product changes and releases.
  • Feedback Loop & Product Insight:
Systematically gather developer feedback on learning pain points and workflows; communicate insights back to Product and Engineering to reduce friction and improve the product experience. Use telemetry and qualitative signals to measure and improve education impact.
  • Developer Community & Programs:
Lead programs that integrate education into community touchpoints (office hours, workshops, webinars, events, and interactive sessions). Enable internal and external educators to represent Kiro’s best practices and workflows.
  • What Success Looks Like (Key Outcomes):
Measurable increases in developer activation and meaningful product usage tied to education paths; publish education content that becomes canonical learning resources; tighter feedback loops that inform product quality and documentation improvements.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields, or experience in software development
  • 10+ years of experience in developer education, developer experience, developer relations, technical content leadership, or related roles
  • Deep technical fluency — you understand developer workflows, can read/write code, and can explain technical concepts clearly
  • Proven success creating structured learning paths and educational content that measurably improve user outcomes
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, support, and community teams
  • Experience with AI-assisted or intelligent developer tools, and familiarity with how developers adopt new paradigms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing technical articles, speaking at technology conferences, and contributing to open source
  • Experience growing or leading an education, Dev Rel, or developer experience org
  • Track record improving developer onboarding and retention through education investments
