Day to Day

The Employer Jobs Platform (EJP) Lifecycle Core team is responsible for the foundational technology that enables employers to create, manage, and publish jobs on Indeed. The team owns the jobs datastore, the APIs that interface with it, domain event generation, and downstream components that enable understanding and publication of employers' hiring needs across Indeed's ecosystem.

As a Product Manager on the Lifecycle Core team, you will own the product direction, discovery, and delivery for core job lifecycle infrastructure within your assigned scope. You'll operate with autonomy, build trust with your team and leadership, and partner closely with engineering, data science and other product teams to drive meaningful outcomes for employers and job seekers. This role requires someone with great technical curiosity, who can understand complex systems while maintaining focus on customer value and business impact.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee product discovery within assigned areas, gathering user feedback and data insights to validate hypotheses, reduce uncertainty, and identify viable solutions to employer and platform challenges.
  • Own the delivery of features and platform improvements, balancing scope, timelines, and trade-offs while translating customer feedback and business needs into clear product requirements.
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps aligned with engineering timelines and resource planning, and partner with engineering to manage sprint planning and execution.
  • Partner with engineering to understand and contribute to decisions around the employer jobs datastore, APIs, and domain event systems, and support initiatives to consolidate multiple APIs and event streams.
  • Analyze customer feedback and platform data to identify patterns, underlying needs, and optimization opportunities, and track feature adoption metrics to ensure delivered features meet intended outcomes.
  • Take ownership from idea to post-production impact, driving post-launch monitoring to proactively address bugs, usability issues, or performance concerns.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners — including engineering, design, data science, and downstream teams — to align on goals and ensure clear understanding of trade-offs and priorities.
  • Communicate clearly across teams, providing written and verbal updates on roadmap progress to leadership and collaborators.
Skills/Competencies
  • 3+ years of product management experience; experience with platform, infrastructure, or technical products is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English with the ability to interface with both engineering and non-technical partners.
  • Experience working closely with engineers to define, plan, and build products and features from discovery through delivery.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to validate hypotheses, measure outcomes, and inform prioritization decisions.
  • Experience creating product roadmaps, writing user stories, and managing backlogs.
  • Understanding of APIs, data systems, and distributed architecture concepts – coding or system design experience is not required, but sufficient technical depth and curiosity to engage in discussions about architectural trade-offs is essential.
  • Self-directed with the ability to operate autonomously while knowing when to elevate or seek alignment.
