Accounting Manager - Transformation, Finance & Business Integration –  Services LLC

Amazon has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager - Transformation to join our Finance and Business Integration team. This candidate will work closely with accounting operations, business, finance, and technology teams to implement SAP for a manufacturing business unit. They will support and directly influence the launches of some of Amazon’s newest global business initiatives. In this role, the candidate will represent accounting while collaborating with business, finance, and technical teams to deliver world class financial solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.

The person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.

• Define Strategies:
  Partner with accounting and technology teams to develop and own the implementation strategies for large, multi-year accounting automation programs.
• Own and Manage:
  Own and manage lifecycle activities from planning and requirements gathering through UAT planning and performance, stakeholder engagement, for multiple projects.
• Automate:
  Lead design of processes and tools to make financial statement processes easier and more accurate.
• Support Expansion:
  Ensure implementation of controlled processes to keep Amazon’s financial statements materially correct during business expansion.
• Consult:
  Act as a trusted consultant to partner with various stakeholder teams across Amazon.
• Make Decisions:
  Drive project direction to completion as an empowered decision maker.
• Collaborate:
  Work with Amazonians from diverse backgrounds.

Your day begins with reviewing business requirements for upcoming projects and documenting accounting impacts for stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align timelines and influence outcomes that optimize financial reporting. Activities may include running working sessions with technology teams to integrate accounting systems requirements, meeting with business partners to explain GAAP implications of new programs, or updating leadership on project status and risk mitigation strategies.

We are the Finance and Business Integration (FBI) team within Amazon Accounting. As an FBI team, we lead Accounting programs that support the accounting work streams related to foundational solutions for Amazon's Advanced Logistics network.

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• Experience managing accounting technology projects with aggressive schedules

• CPA
• Knowledge of internal control framework (COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
