Sr Delivery Consultant - Database Modernization, AppMod Team, Professional Services

Overview

Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking a skilled Delivery Consultant to join AWS. In this role, you'll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, you will architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You’ll gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose migration strategies to AWS. As trusted advisors, you will lead the implementation process, ensure best practices, optimize performance, and manage risks.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, delivering focused guidance through specialty practices across technologies and industries.

• Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
• Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies
• Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts

As a Delivery Consultant specializing in Microsoft SQL database migration and modernization, you will lead technical assessment of legacy applications and develop a modern solution architecture that considers business drivers and operational challenges. You will support mobilization and planning, and guide the implementation as part of the Pro Serve delivery team in co-development engagements to migrate customer environments to AWS cloud based database platforms.

Using your exceptional technical, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, you will set our customers on a new path for scale and innovation, and make meaningful impact to their business.

The Application Modernization Center of Excellence is a strategic AWS team helping top customers solve their toughest technical challenges when moving legacy Windows applications to cloud native architectures.

• 5+ years of database experience (e.g., SQL, No
  
  SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
• 5+ years of software development with an object-oriented language
• 5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
• Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience in migrating Microsoft SQL databases to PostgreSQL

• Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
• Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in pre-sales environments
• AWS experience with proficiency across EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, Cloud Formation
• AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, Dev Ops Engineer Professional) preferred
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python)
• Experience modernizing Microsoft SQL databases to non-relational/No
  
  SQL databases
