The Customer Insights & Analytics team strives to make Nordstrom the best data-driven fashion retailer among competitors, who wins by rigorous and thoughtful application of data science to unlock value for the enterprise. We focus on three business outcomes: more customers who are happier and more engaged. This role primarily focuses on happier and more engaged customers.

The Data Analyst role on the Omnichannel Engagement Analytics team is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to improve decision-making around customer experience projects. They will be the intersection of quantitative customer engagement data and qualitative behavioral data. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data. They should be able to communicate those insights in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.

• Partner with key stakeholders on data analysis problems

• Mine and deep dive into complex business problems and provide insights on customers’ omnichannel journey

• Collaborate with team members and business partners to deliver high-quality solutions and recommendations to a variety of problems across the domain

• Bring data to life through storytelling in a clear and meaningful way to audiences with mixed levels of technical expertise

• Support BI reporting, database production and ad hoc analysis

• Partner with and assist the work with CX Measurement team to extract, transform and analyze customer feedback and CX data to drive actionable insights to business

• Reconcile divergent demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment

• BA/BS degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences). Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in statistics, mathematics, economics, applied science or equivalent STEM degree is a plus

• 1+ years of corporate data analysis experience in customer or digital analytics

• 1+ years of experience with SQL required. Experience working with No
  
  SQL data environments and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Dynamo
  
  DB is a plus.

• 1+ years of experience with scripting (R or Python) and ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., caret, spark, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, tensor flow, pytorch, keras, theano, seaborn, matplotlib, etc.) is preferred

• 1+ years of experience with direct use of graphics/visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Looker)

• Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey results to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with AWS, GCP is a plus

• Experience with A/B Test or trainings on digital testing is a plus

• Exposure to AI applications (ChatGPT, Jasper AI, Copilot) and prompt engineering is a plus

• Experience with API integrations (endpoints, requests, extraction) a plus
