About the Role

AWS Fintech is seeking a Senior UX Manager to lead a team of designers and researchers in AI‑first research & design operations across the Finance ecosystem, including Uno, Quick Suite, and Clouds cape. The role delivers deployment‑ready products through Roster and AMPS, scaling them across Amazon and external customers following re:

Invent demonstrations.

• AI‑First Research & Design Operations
  • Establish and evolve research and design operations with an AI‑first approach, implementing automated mechanisms to reduce discovery cycles.
  • Build scalable UX processes and mechanisms, including design toolkits, research templates, journey maps, and impact measurement methodologies.
  • Drive operational excellence through telemetry coverage and real‑time analytics on task completion rates, page load times, and error rates across AWS Fintech products.
  • Ensure WCAG AA and AAA accessibility compliance for enterprise products.
• Platform Adoption & Cross‑Organizational Partnerships
  • Drive platform adoption across the Finance ecosystem, including Uno, Quick Suite, and Clouds cape.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships across multiple finance and business intelligence teams across Amazon.
  • Contribute to the Partner Patterns program with Clouds cape, scaling design system adoption with Amazon‑wide finance teams.
  • Collaborate on cross‑organizational initiatives with product engineering and business teams.
• Product Delivery & Strategic Impact
  • Deliver deployment‑ready products through Roster and AMPS and other AWS Fintech platforms.
  • Enable the team to create features across the AWS Fintech product ecosystem, contributing to senior leadership goals and organizational objectives.
  • Own senior leadership CFO‑level and org‑level goals; co‑author annual operating plan documents summarizing research and design impact and headcount requests.
  • Establish and track customer experience metrics across multiple products, driving measurable improvements in satisfaction and ease of use.
  • Balance hands‑on design work with team leadership, contributing directly to high‑priority projects while enabling team success.
• Team Leadership & People Development
  • Lead and develop a team of designers and researchers across product design, user research, and design systems.
  • Build a high‑performing team culture focused on innovation, customer obsession, and operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development to help team members grow and advance.
  • Drive hiring and promotion decisions to build future design leaders.
  • Conduct performance management and ensure team alignment with Amazon Leadership Principles.

Your day blends leading the team and rolling up your sleeves on high‑impact work. You might coach a designer through a complex workflow, critique designs for the headcount management platform, partner with finance teams, dive into research sessions with CFO office users, remove blockers and share accessibility metrics. You will also present UX strategy to senior leaders or prototype new concepts and facilitate co‑creation workshops.

The AWS Fintech Research & Design team is a global team spanning Seattle, Hyderabad, and Jersey City. It has earned recognition as the first AWS product to win a prestigious UX Design Award at the International Design Center‑Berlin. Our flagship product Uno and AMPS have been featured in the Wall Street Journal as daily insight tools used by Amazon and AWS CFOs.

The team serves 30K Amazonians and manages $2.75B in spend.

• 10+ years design experience with 5+ years leading multi‑disciplinary design teams.
• Experience managing and developing designers and researchers.
• Experience delivering end‑to‑end product experiences from concept to launch.
• Track record of building scalable design processes and operations.
• Experience designing enterprise SaaS or financial products.
• Track record of building partnerships across organizations and influencing without authority.
