Overview
The Systems Administrator role for Centerline Logistics works to recommend, deploy and maintain IT systems, applications, and infrastructure across all sites and vessels. This role serves as Tier 3 helpdesk, supporting technical issues and project life cycles, as well as POC for all backend processes and applications.
Responsibilities- Plan and support long‑term IT strategies.
- Implement systems using industry best practices in compliance with CLL processes.
- Deploy, manage and improve hardware, software, applications and network services.
- Ensure data integrity, security and compliance.
- Perform audits, backups, restores and troubleshooting.
- Support application development and analyze performance.
- Recommend and implement upgrades and improvements.
- Document processes and configurations.
- Mentor helpdesk staff and provide top‑tier support.
- Participate in emergency on‑call schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with VMWare, Azure, Entra, Meraki, Sophos, Office
365. - Experience with IIS, SQL, Veeam, SharePoint.
- Programming (ASP, TSQL, Power Shell, scripting).
- Hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Documentation and process maintenance.
- Proficient in Windows, enterprise networking and Microsoft products.
- Willing to travel to ships and shipyards.
- Must pass background checks for port access.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Prioritize and execute tasks in high‑pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication; customer service focus.
- Research hardware/software issues and present solutions clearly.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Infrequent light physical effort required.
- Ability to obtain TWIC upon hire.
- Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or equivalent.
- May be required to travel domestically.
