Systems Administrator (Senior Computer Specialist)

OverviewThis is a full‑time, 100% FTE role reporting to the CSS IT and AV Manager. The position works directly with Harborview departmental staff to support and enhance non‑clinical IT systems used throughout the medical center.
ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Administrator supports a broad array of systems including building access control, security video, HVAC, point of sale, telephone systems, parking, and many others. Key duties include system administration for servers and client applications, end‑user training and support, and business analysis/consulting for departmental managers.
Qualifications – Requirements- Advanced Windows Server system administration: secure public‑facing servers, configure and manage Windows networking and firewall, troubleshoot connectivity & performance issues, and automate processes using scripting tools.
- Experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 client systems: deploy applications, diagnose 32‑/64‑bit compatibility, create/recreate user profiles, and automate functions in batch, VBScript, and/or Power Shell.
- MS SQL Server system administration: configure automated database backups, restore databases, and troubleshoot general SQL Server issues.
- IP networking knowledge: implement secure server access in public IP space, identify network performance and security issues, configure and test firewall appliances, and troubleshoot firewall‑related connectivity issues.
- Exemplary problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in a departmental or line‑of‑business IT unit.
- Experience supporting security systems such as IP cameras, recorders, access control, or alarms.
- Experience supporting or scripting phone call automation systems.
- Experience supporting cloud‑based services and applications.
- Experience with HIPAA, FERPA, PCI‑DSS, or similar data security regulations.
