The role

We’re adding a Dev Ops/Infrastructure Engineer to our team to build and scale the core infrastructure that enables Grid to ship and operate. You'll work closely with business operations and the product engineering team to deliver backend services and infrastructure. Projects may include designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, ensuring system reliability and scalability, integrating with monitoring and alerting systems, and optimizing our workflows with developer experience and devops tools.

The Tech Stack

Our tech stack is GCP, Go, protobufs and MySQL. We have native mobile apps, an event-driven architecture on the backend and data infrastructure for streaming analytics and ML. Despite a complex domain and data model, most new hires get productive on our stack within a few days.

What you’ll do:

• Manage Grid's production infrastructure end to end
• Enable continuous, compliant deployment of Grid's latest product and backend systems
• Design, develop and operate Grid's AI deployment strategy
• Serve our AI/ML team with infrastructure for training and online inference
• Operate and scale sensitive payment processing systems
• Debug, quantify and minimize exceptions
• Set up sustainable best practices for Dev Ops and Fin Ops, including monitoring and analytics
• Champion new practices to improve customer experience and enable exponential growth
• Lead and own projects end to end

What we're looking for:

• Experience building and deploying software at scale
• Product mindset, mission-driven approach
• Deep knowledge in a variety of Dev Ops/infrastructure topics
• Operational mindset, focus on efficiency, observability and reproducibility
• Prior experience in Fin Tech, payments or other similar business domains
• Experience with our tech stack (or willingness to learn quickly/independently)
• Data-driven approach, fluency in SQL queries and Datadog analysis
• Deep experience with modern cloud-native data architecture
• Motivated, entrepreneurially minded individuals who thrive in an environment with minimal structure, high ownership and technically challenging problems
• Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into pragmatic technical plans
• An efficient approach to software development that drives accuracy and user experience
