There are two kinds of recruiters. One is primarily driven by the thrill of the chase and the desire to win. The other is drawn to the profession because it allows them to help people make an exciting and significant change in their lives. We’re Resume Insider and we're the second kind.
Don’t get me wrong. We still like to win and we have been very successful in our careers, but the thing that most excites us about our work is the opportunity to help people. We provide resume and Linked In profile feedback and job search coaching to people who are looking for guidance from actual recruiters, not copy writers and self-professed career experts.
Job DescriptionWe're looking for Insiders; recruiters (or former recruiters) who want to get paid as a freelancer for something they are probably already doing for free. You might want to work with us as a side-hustle outside of your recruiting day-to-day. Maybe you have moved on from recruiting but miss the experience of helping people succeed in their careers. Or you're between jobs and want to do some work while you look.
As long as you have the recruiting experience we are looking for, and you give great feedback, we're interested in you.
Here is what our Insiders do:
Insiders will go through our selection process and choose which services they would like to provide on a freelance basis. As new Resume Insider clients come in, they will be matched with Insiders based on their industry, job function and the availability of our team. When you're matched, we'll let you know. You'll receive an email with the client's resume and information, and a note on the services they have purchased.
You will have 36 business-day hours to complete the feedback and return it to us by email. You won't have to have direct contact with the client; we want to make this as simple for you as possible. Complete two rounds of feedback and we will pay you. It's that easy.
If you offer job search coaching, your meetings will take place online. We pay an hourly rate for coaching.
QualificationsFive+ years recruiting experience. We are flexible. It’s more important to us that you are great at guiding job-seekers and providing feedback than how long you have been working as a recruiter.
Before you get started as an Insider, we will ask you to show us your stuff. You’ll be sent two sample resumes to provide feedback on. Obviously, excellent resume review and feedback skills, as well as the ability to concisely and clearly communicate feedback in written documents, is required. We will let you know our decision based on the feedback you submit.
A current form W9, demonstrating that your work with Resume Insider is as an independent contractor.
A completed recruiter profile and independent contractor agreement.
You will need to be reachable by email and able to commit to turning around resume feedback (in Microsoft Word and/or Google Docs) within 36 hours.
Willingness to keep us updated on any changes in capacity and availability.
You will need to maintain a positive feedback rating with job seekers.
Additional InformationOur clients work with us because we have backgrounds as recruiters. We will ask you to show us your stuff and only those recruiters who meet the bar will be invited to be Insiders. Once you have been accepted, we will provide resources and additional skills development on providing effective feedback.
We will work with your availability. You can limit the number of clients you receive each week and stop receiving new clients when your bandwidth declines (with advance notice).
