About Us

We are a low income, comprehensive, primary-care clinic in King and Snohomish County. Our services include integrated and comprehensive medical, dental and mental health counseling. Purpose

The primary function of the Medical Office Assistant is to support the Medical Office Manager and medical office staff in the delivery and processes of care for medical patients. This is achieved by providing clerical and administrative efficiency in the medical office and at medical clinics.

Hours

20 hours/week Part-time, Exempt

Salary

$22-23 Hourly, based on experience

Summary of Benefits

Lahai offers somewhat flexible work hours and a hybrid work environment for most positions. Lahai provides comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance to all exempt and non-exempt employees working more than 30 hours per week. Lahai offers a voluntary 401K retirement plan to all full/part-time employees who are 21 years of age and older who are eligible to participate. PTO is accrued at a rate of .057 per hour for employees working over 20 hours per week and .025 for employees working less than 20 hours per week.

Lahai recognizes 11 paid holidays and holiday pay is pro-rated based on the numbers of hours you are regularly scheduled to work.

Responsibilities
  • In charge of packages, orders, returns for all clinic needs.
  • Keep track of items that need reordering, expiration dates etc.
  • In charge of restocking the Mobile Medical Clinic and communicating with the nurses regarding items/other miscellaneous needs on it.
  • Ensuring patient samples make their way to the lab correctly labeled etc., occasionally acting as a courier for them.
  • Train and set up Volunteer Nurse, Scribe, Counseling, Provider roles as well as WSU Residents on our Electronic Health Record system.
  • Update and do basic maintenance and/or troubleshooting on computers and other miscellaneous equipment such as thermometers or retinal screening machines etc.
  • Keep running inventory of our clinic’s electronic equipment and computer details.
  • Manage the end of the year supply inventory count
  • Manage phlebotomy clinics and retinal screening clinics
  • Check incoming labs for critical results, notify providers as needed of abnormal results.
  • Manage lab tracking spreadsheet as needed
  • Manage key control forms for the office, and manage keys in general
  • In charge of staff appreciation purchases and cards
  • Assist Medical Office Manager with projects as assigned
  • Use clinic resources prudently and as needed to accomplish tasks
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings which may include:
    1) Staff Team Meetings;
    2) Lahai Staff Meetings and Luncheons and
    3) Fundraising events
  • Pray with patients and volunteers as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma; some college preferred but not required

Experience

Experience with in a community healthcare setting preferred but not required

Proficiencies

Computer skills, including competency with Microsoft Office Suite, highly organized with strong attention to detail and good judgment in establishing priorities and problem solving, team player, bilingual skills beneficial but not required

Abilities

Work closely with staff and volunteers but also able to work independently as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
