Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery | Seattle, WA

Shift: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours

- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to post partum.
- Provide NB care including eyes and Vit K injections; newborn assessments; circulation; and related duties per unit needs.
- Circulate for C-section, assist with high risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and post-delivery newborn care.
- Monitor and respond to fetal monitoring data; follow AWHONN guidelines for high risk/high volume L&D.
- Maintain patient safety and maintain required documentation in the Epic electronic health record system.
- Float as needed to postpartum/antepartum and sister facilities, as directed.
- Adhere to unit procedures for high acuity obstetric care and manage care under fast-paced conditions.
- 3–5 years of experience in high acuity & high pace L&D settings; highly preferred 5 years of high risk experience.
- Current RN license; proof of required certifications with submission; pass clinical review; and current Nursys verification.
- Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, NRP; AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate preferred; EFM/Fetal Monitoring competency (L&D RN exam). Examinations: L&D RN Exam, RN Pharmacology Exam, S.T.A.B.L.E., Ishihara Color Vision Screening. - Must have minimum 3–5 years of experience and supervisory references; proof of required certifications; and ability to pass prescreen requirements.
- Experience with Epic charting; knowledge of obstetric patient care, neonatal care, and postpartum recovery.
- Unit:
High Risk/High Volume L&D with 4 ORs; provider will function across postpartum and newborn care areas. - Unit details include daily census around 15 patients and 500–600 deliveries per month; 31 rooms/beds.
- Onboarding: prescreen requirements include WA license/compact license, proof of local address (within 50 miles preferred), and supervisory references; prestart modules compliance as directed.
