The Department of Family Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of Educational Evaluation and Analytics to join our team.

The Assistant Director of Evaluation and Analytics provides strategic and operational leadership for program evaluation and learner assessment across MEDEX Northwest, a multi-campus Physician Assistant program within the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The position leads cross‑campus data and evaluation initiatives that drive continuous program improvement, support student learning outcomes, and ensure compliance with ARC‑PA accreditation standards.

The Assistant Director serves as a key member of the MEDEX leadership team and partners with faculty and staff to advance a culture of accountability and educational excellence.

This position directly impacts the quality and accountability of MEDEX Northwest’s educational programs, which enroll approximately 240 students annually across five campuses. The role is critical to maintaining ARC‑PA accreditation and ensuring the program meets its mission of preparing competent Physician Assistants to serve diverse communities. The Assistant Director’s work supports program excellence, informs leadership decision‑making, contributes to educational scholarship, and enhances the School of Medicine’s reputation for innovation in health professions education.

The Assistant Director serves as a key member of the MEDEX leadership team, chairs the MEDEX Evaluation Committee, and partners with faculty and staff across all MEDEX campuses to advance a culture of continuous improvement and educational excellence. The role ensures that evaluation and assessment practices drive data‑informed program decisions, support student learning outcomes, and maintain compliance with ARC‑PA accreditation standards.

The Assistant Director collaborates closely with program leadership, faculty, and staff; leads cross‑campus data and evaluation initiatives; and contributes to educational scholarship and faculty development efforts.

Supervision

This position reports to the Program Administrator of the MEDEX Program and works in close partnership with the MEDEX Program Director and Executive Leadership.

The Assistant Director serves as Chair of the MEDEX Evaluation Committee and provides leadership to faculty, staff, and campus representatives involved in evaluation and assessment activities across all MEDEX campuses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Evaluation Leadership — 35%
  • Provide strategic leadership for program evaluation across MEDEX Northwest, ensuring alignment with program goals, accreditation requirements, and best practices in health professions education.
  • Chair the MEDEX Evaluation Committee, coordinating evaluation priorities, developing annual work plans, and producing committee reports.
  • Design and implement comprehensive multi‑year evaluation plans, incorporating data collection across the student lifecycle and key program functions.
  • Develop and manage evaluation tools and processes for:
    • Admissions process evaluation
    • Didactic phase course and instructional evaluation
    • Clinical phase preceptor, site, and rotation evaluation
    • Graduate and employer surveys
  • Oversee all aspects of evaluation data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Produce actionable evaluation reports and interactive dashboards to inform program leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Lead program contributions to Department‑wide and School‑wide evaluation and continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts.
