Medical Physicist – Olympia, WA

Join a Collaborative Team in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! We are looking for a medical physicist to join Northwest Medical Physics Center (NMPC) at an APEx accredited clinic in the Olympia, Washington, area. You'll collaborate with 4 experienced physicists, a medical physics assistant, and a therapy physics resident, utilizing Varian Linacs (True Beam and 3 iXs) with SGRT (Align

RT) to deliver treatment (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS/SRT) to over 100 patients daily. HDR is not presently offered. Eclipse is used with an Aria EMR and a suite of products from Radformation (Autocontour, EZFluence, Clear Calc, Clear Check). The sites utilize SNC equipment for Daily QA (DQA3), Patient QA (Map Check, Arc Check), and Monthly QA (SNC machine, Rad Machine). Physics equipment also includes access to a catalog of NMPC owned scanning tanks, motion phantoms, IC profiler, chambers, etc.

• Masters or PhD graduate degree from a CAMPEP accredited university, PhDs are encouraged to apply as we are strengthening NMPC’s Department of Education and Research
• Successful completion of a CAMPEP accredited residency program
• A  Board certification (or CCPM) or in the certification process; must have passed A  part 1
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Willingness to assist other NMPC clinics for vacation coverage and commissioning
• Willingness to mentor physics residents and summer interns (modeled after the AAPM Summer Internship Program)

• Full scope of on-site clinical medical physics support

We are a non-profit organization comprised of collegial, knowledgeable, and collaborative medical physicists and dosimetrists. NMPC supports the first non-academic CAMPEP accredited therapy residency program and offers opportunities to partner with other physicists on projects and commissioning. Per the candidate’s interests, advancement can be attained via volunteering for our many departments. Annually, we hold two chamber-intercomparisons followed by a business meeting and two social meetings to encourage collegiality and collaboration.

• Salary of $180,000 to $250,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and in accordance with the AAPM salary survey
