Job DescriptionThe UW Medicine – Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 with the Specimen Procurement Team at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake. As a CLT 1, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic process of laboratory testing. You will process and prepare specimens for testing, perform blood draws on patients, and provide excellent customer service, influencing the timely and accurate diagnosis of patients at UW Medicine and beyond.

Work Schedule- 100% FTE
- Night Shift (Fixed Duration Position)
- Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring manager
- Perform Specimen Process Activities – Receive, sort, and prioritize specimens, match against requisitions, centrifuge and aliquot, process timed urine collections, review entries, and perform blood draws.
- Perform Customer Service – Respond promptly, courteously, and professionally to inquiries from patients, clients, and hospital/laboratory staff.
- Share Your Knowledge – Orient and train new employees, participate in performance improvement activities, and support accreditation standing (JCAHO, CLIA, CAP).
- Utilize Problem‑Solving Skills – Resolve specimen and order‑related problems accurately and provide appropriate documentation.
- High school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
- OR completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
- OR equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements.
- Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification with the Washington State Department of Health or obtain the MA-P certification within 180 days of start date.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in science.
- Experience in a major medical hospital laboratory.
- Experience with a Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- $3,000 recruitment incentive available for eligible new employees.

Compensation, Benefits And Position DetailsPay Range Minimum: $54,828.00 annual
