• Recruit, train, evaluate, discipline, and terminate all Nurses and Medication Assistants.
• Determine adequate staffing levels and prepare staffing schedules using approved tools.
• Replace absent team members as required per resident care and facility needs.
• Ensure proper training and certification of all Nurses and Medication Assistants as required by Merrill Gardens and state/local guidelines.
• Mentor team members using electronic care system.
• Supervise Nurses and Medication Assistants to evaluate performance continuously to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
• Provide staff in‑service training, as indicated by the facility and resident needs, to ensure team members receive the training necessary to accomplish their assignments and provide accurate resident care.

• Adhere to budgetary guidelines established by Merrill Gardens.
• Provide the General Manager with weekly status reports on all assisted living residents.
• Maintain all resident records and department documentation.
• Audit assisted living services for regulatory compliance.
• Review and verify that all Nurses and Medication Assistants are using the time clock appropriately and taking breaks as indicated by policy and regulations.
• Respond quickly to all emergency situations, including but not limited to:
• Assisting in fire control and resident evacuation procedures during fire/disaster.
• Ensuring care personnel know actions to be taken during fire/disaster.
• Performing CPR as necessary.
• Meet continuing education requirements for state licensing/registration when necessary.
• Provide additional management reports as required.
• Ensure the assisted living work area, which may include offices, medication rooms, etc., is clean and orderly.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Current RN licensure, as specified by state agency (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire where required by state.
• Complete all dementia training required by state regulations within 6 months of hire date if applicable.

• Three years of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in assisted living, geriatric nursing, or gerontology and dementia care.
• Experience in medication administration and hands‑on personal care preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control.
