The speech-language pathologist (SLP) delivers and supervises services in communication, cognition, and swallowing for both inpatient and outpatient patients, including pediatric adolescents. The SLP performs evaluations, develops individual care plans, implements treatment, reassesses results, and participates in discharge planning. All services are provided within a multidisciplinary team approach and in compliance with Swedish Medical Center standards, national and professional standards, state practice acts, and the current accepted state‑of‑the‑art practice.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to promote functional outcomes.
- Perform comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and reassess individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members.
- Participate actively in discharge planning and care coordination.
- Provide services to pediatric adolescents and adults across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Washington Speech Language Pathologist license upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- Experience working with pediatric patients and/or in inpatient settings.
