The speech‑language pathologist (SLP) delivers and supervises services in communication, cognition, and swallowing. Upon physician referral, the SLP performs evaluations and develops individual plans of care to maximize functional outcomes, implements the plans, reassesses results, and actively participates in discharge planning. Services are delivered within a team approach, including all disciplines, the patient, and significant others. Provision of services for pediatric adolescents as well as for inpatients and outpatients may be required.
Services are delivered in compliance with Providence Swedish standards, national and professional standards, state practice acts, and current accepted state‑of‑the‑art practice.
- Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Washington State Speech‑Language Pathologist license upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- Related experience.
