Position Summary
:
The Mental Health Technician is an incredible opportunity to expand your role in health care through functioning as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team. This role is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients while assisting with the provision of basic patient care and recovery needs.
Responsibilities
:
- Support the unit through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes
- Perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
- Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
- Provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient
Requirements
:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field preferred, or 1 year of experience
- Must be eligible to obtain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor; apply within 30 days and have from DOH within 90 days
- Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, BLS certification is required prior to starting; other campuses require CPR certification prior to starting on the floor
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, First Aid training and Food Handler's Card are required
Pay and Benefit Expectations
:
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $25.60 - $37.60 USD.
