Position: Student Internship - Tribal Affairs (District office)
Seattle Colleges District Office is looking to hire a student intern to support Tribal Affairs in the division for Access, Community & Opportunity.

Salary for this position is $21.30 per hour.

Application is open until filled, first review of materials will begin March 13th.

This position is open to current students at Seattle Central College, North Seattle College, and South Seattle College. Must be enrolled in courses by the start of the internship.

Position Summary

This position reports to the ACO Navigator who works on district wide ACO initiatives, often specifically on tribal affairs projects and events. District Division of ACO at the Siegal Center is a space dedicated to creating connections, navigating systems, and promoting engagement opportunities in the service of student success and agency.

This position also supports the work of the Tribal Government Liaison at Seattle Colleges, who has oversight on the alignment, coordination and development of district wide government-to-government Tribal relations strategy, in consultation with Washington's 29 federally recognized Tribes, urban Native communities and other historical Indigenous communities that call the Greater Seattle region home.

This position is part-time, working up to 10-19 hours per week.

Between 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events. Schedules are configured to accommodate student class schedules.

6 months with the potential to extend while student is enrolled with the Seattle Colleges.

What you will be working on:

* Attend event planning meetings, capture notes and action items

* Supporting event and tribal government liaison communications

* Community outreach and engagement, tabling at events

* Develop a calendar of community events in the region

* Support to native affinity groups and collectives

* Provide day-of support at ACO-hosted events, including setup and take-down

* Support the collection and maintenance of data for tribal affairs, such as event participation and surveys

* Support event promotion and development of marketing materials
