We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance organization supporting the AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain team. We are looking for a team player that has the entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Through insightful and data-driven analysis, you will partner and collaborate with cross-functional team members to drive supply chain optimization initiatives that will continue our flywheel.

This role is both strategic and detailed in nature and requires a finance professional who has a passion for developing complex financial models to support sound decision-making as well as enjoys rolling up their sleeves to learn the day‑day aspects of the business. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment; will be a creative and analytical problem solver.

job responsibilities
  • Build, run, and maintain complex financial models to maintain AWS infrastructure commodity planning, derive key financial insights, and communicate results to AWS FP&A and senior management.
  • Conduct supply chain monthly, quarterly, and yearly variance analysis and communicate results to AWS FP&A and senior management.
  • Develop ad‑hoc business analyses and present recommendations to AWS senior management.
  • Collaborate with business partners and co‑lead on supply chain optimization projects by influencing through data‑driven analysis, reporting and metrics.
  • Serve as a key finance partner working with cross‑functional teams to provide actionable insights and cost savings opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes to support the fast‑growing, global AWS business.
  • Partner with Accounting, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes to support the fast‑growing, global AWS business.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
