This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon Web Services (AWS) and become a part of one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing organizations s role will work closely with business and finance stakeholders within the Partner Organization. We’re seeking a Finance Manager to support a centralized business development team that manages strategic partnerships across Amazon. The candidate will develop and enhance deal assessment models, tooling, and the buildout of deal tracking mechanisms necessary to address business opportunities, drive automation, improve internal controls, and earn trust across AWS Partner Organization.

The role will dive deep into the business drivers and use a data-driven approach to influence business decisions with findings. The candidate will provide cross-functional leadership and initiatives across other finance and operations teams within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform various ad hoc analyses to help business leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications.
  • Build rhythm of the business processes that deliver ongoing insights and support day-to-day decision making.
  • Evaluate and refine deal investment models.
  • Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes and controls as needed to support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Support planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for OPEX, contra revenue and working capital.
  • Simplify and automate processes and reports within APO.
  • Translate long-range company goals into strategic financial plans; partner with internal stakeholders to reach milestones and assure financial alignment on plans.
  • Own planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for APO headcount, OpEx, contra revenue and working capital.
  • Lead and coordinate with internal finance teams to implement KPIs & reporting.
  • Present financial results to an audience of senior leaders.
  • Exercise considerable creativity, foresight and judgement in conceiving, planning and delivering initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine financial models that calculate partner profitability.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlight trends and analyze causes of unexpected variance to support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or equivalent quantitative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root cause and implementing an escalation plan.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business.
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • Building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
  • Creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
