Cost Accountant

Description

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost models for manufactured products using the company's ERP system.

- Oversee project-based costing for products, including setup, tracking, and analysis.

- Analyze and manage inventory valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

- Conduct regular reconciliations and analysis of cost data to ensure accuracy.

- Update and review standard costs periodically to reflect current manufacturing conditions.

- Monitor and explain variances in material, labor, and overhead costs.

- Maintain accurate product and cost-related financial master data within the ERP system.

- Assist in month-end close processes, focusing on inventory and cost of goods sold.

- Generate detailed profitability reports by product, customer, and project.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support cost estimation, pricing strategies, and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

- Proven experience in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong understanding of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency with ERP systems

- Expertise in analyzing manufacturing variances, including labor, material, and overhead.

- Ability to manage inventory valuation and reconcile discrepancies.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
