AGL Delivery Finance NA is responsible for last‑mile transportation spend across Amazon Fresh (FCs & Stores), Whole Foods Market, and Grocery Partnerships. Our Finance teams partner closely with operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operations excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long‑term profitability for our portfolio of businesses.

The AGL Delivery Finance team seeks a Finance Manager. This role is responsible for key forecasting and reconciliation processes, to develop and implement a long‑range business plan, develop key processes around the organization’s goals, and to lead financial analyses of major business events. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders across retail and operations teams to design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.
The successful candidate will influence business owners, support thoughtful decision‑making, and adapt to a rapidly‑evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon, bringing excellent verbal and written communication skills. They prioritize the most impactful projects and programs that will drive Amazon Grocery forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions with large‑scale data mining tools, identifying the high‑priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that effect company‑wide strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Identify basic control risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps.
- Deliver weekly/monthly financial close.
- Use financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets.
- Work with a variety of data sources; identify incomplete or inaccurate data, root causes of data issues, and partner to deliver a solution.
- Communicate data (written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, adjusting style for various audiences.
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
- Drive own self‑development in the Finance Community and share knowledge within and outside the team.
- Contribute to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members, an indicator of operations excellence.
- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field.
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
- 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, root causes, and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
- MBA, or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
