Director of Product Engineering

Head / Director of Product Engineering - $200,000 + Equity - (No Sponsorship)

We’re partnering with an early-stage construction-tech startup that has secured patents and early funding and is now building its founding team.

They’re developing a novel reasoning platform designed to understand how buildings are actually built — and they’re hiring a Director of Product Engineers to play a founding delivery and execution role.

This person will work side‑by‑side with the first senior technical hire to take a flagship product from zero to launch. The role sits at the intersection of product delivery, engineering coordination, and real-world construction workflows. You will be deeply involved in shaping POCs, working closely with ML/data/engineering teams, and translating complex technical ideas into executable plans and you will need to be able to assist with production code when needed.

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the company’s first flagship product
• Act as the execution counterpart to the founding technical leader
• Build lightweight, startup‑appropriate delivery frameworks
• Break down ML‑ and data‑heavy initiatives into clear milestones
• Coordinate across engineers, product, and external stakeholders (builders, contractors, field teams)
• Support rapid prototyping using vibe coding, low‑code tools, and experimentation
• Establish early operating rhythms and help scale delivery from Seed to Series A

• Experience launching a product from scratch in a startup or zero‑to‑one environment
• Strong delivery, program, or project leadership background
• Fullstack Engineering background to be able to lead teams
• Comfort working with highly technical teams without being hands‑on
• Ability to turn ambiguity into clear execution plans
