Position: Senior Project Coordinator - Construction (term-limited)

Salary range: $81k to $134k, midpoint $88k. New hires receive between minimum and midpoint; may be higher based on experience, internal equity, market.

This is a term-limited position with expected duration of 5 years.

General Purpose

Under general direction, performs professional and technical level tasks in assigned area of responsibility to assist multiple ST managers in administering the planning, design, and construction phases of capital projects; coordinates resources, design details, planning activities, communication and coordination of work activities, and facilitates exchange of information between Agency staff, consultants, design engineers, local jurisdictions, and the public during all project phases;

interprets data and processes and handles sensitive materials; negotiates solutions and develops recommendations with Agency policies.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews and provides lead support and coordination on project-related documentation and other project related materials; and manage specific project related tasks as directed.
  • Provides support with development of projects as assigned; verifies submittals including monthly reporting; monitors schedules; participates in development of project feasibility studies, site selection, and technical documentation; provides Resident Engineer services as assigned for small projects; manages contractor; and coordinates project relevant public outreach efforts.
  • Provides support in project management of new facilities/stations customer signage including updating and maintaining standards, signage layout, permitting, coordination with ST departments and other agencies, and managing design and construction contracts related to this subject.
  • Provides support during final design phase of larger projects; coordinates assigned tasks and comments during design; participates in design development, review, and project meetings; meets with partner agencies and operations groups; lead and coordinate technical meetings as assigned; assists with permit procurement and submittal; assists with right-of-way needs as directed including coordinating with consultant to obtain legal descriptions, parcel exhibits, and other documentation needed to acquire property.
  • Provides support during the construction phase on larger projects; provides construction bid assistance; coordinates with construction management and Agency purchasing groups regarding bid process and contract negotiations/requirements for construction firm selection; creates procedural checklists; and manages the closing out of construction contracts.
  • Coordinates project elements with a variety of interested parties including Agency staff from various lines of businesses and departments, elected officials, consultants, local/state/federal agencies, and the general public; coordinates and attends project related technical, public, and community meetings to represent the Agency; develops meeting materials including agendas, handouts, and meeting summaries as required.
