We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support critical power facilities. This position will be based out of Seattle WA. This position requires a qualified, hands-on, service-oriented technician to be involved with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls. Applicant should show desire to learn and advance to the Field Service Engineer level.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts.
- Provide technical support for field startups (standard and non-standard systems) and customer interactions with a focus on safety and on-time delivery.
- Supervise and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws.
- Conduct client communications in a highly service-oriented manner and potentially expand project scope or negotiate extra charges for work performed.
- Ensure all work and decisions comply with applicable regulatory laws.
- Travel up to 80% as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems including low voltage through medium voltage switch gear in support of critical power facilities (e.g., data centers, airports)
- Experience with testing various types of automatic transfer switches
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints for power control, automation, and customer technical support
- Familiarity with applicable codes and industry standards
- Strong client interaction skills and ability to complete projects on time and within budget
- Strong project management, decision making, organization, and management capabilities
- Self-directed with a commitment to customer satisfaction
- Valid Driver's license in good standing
- Authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Excellent customer service, time management and follow-up skills
- PLC programming
- Power distribution, DC/AC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills
- Pay range information is provided in the original posting and may vary by location and experience.
The pay range for this position is $77,910 - $133,560, plus travel and overtime. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location. The position can be filled at a higher or lower level.
