Water Strategy Manager, AWS Water Team West

You will deliver water sustainability projects for AWS Infrastructure in US West regions, as you execute on the delivery of multiple water infrastructure development projects, monitor operational efficiency metrics, and build in system resiliency after project hand-off to regional operations teams. You will also be the central point of contact for all issues pertaining to water and wastewater treatment and disinfection systems and for managing healthy relationships with utilities.

• Plan and implement water and wastewater infrastructure projects that support water delivery to data centers
• Manage utility system contracts and connection agreements for domestic, fire, and cooling water supply
• Engineer, implement and monitor water treatment projects, developing scalable designs for regional deployment
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for water systems
• Coordinate with local utilities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements
• Track system reliability and maintain water supply resiliency for data center cooling
• Develop and implement water sustainability initiatives
• Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of water treatment equipment
• Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, real estate, EHS) to develop solutions in areas with limited infrastructure
• Travel up to 25% as needed for project execution where authorized.

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, and oil & gas facilities
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Water Resources Planning

• Professional Engineer License
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
