As a Senior Structural Engineer on our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of Data Center projects—new builds, retrofits, colocation sites, and more. Your responsibilities include performing structural engineering assignments, deepening your familiarity with design methods and tools, and contributing to diverse teams of engineers and designers on capital projects of various sizes. You will coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices, both domestic and international, and liaise with internal professionals and design departments to deliver projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and create computer models for structures.
- Conduct calculations for member and foundation designs, prepare material take‑offs for estimating, and assist with schedules.
- Prepare miscellaneous calculations and coordinate design activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Eight or more years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
- Familiarity with ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry‑relevant design codes and standards.
- Knowledge and application of Building Codes.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including MS Teams for remote coordination.
- Ability to travel to various client sites (approximately 10%‑20% travel).
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metal projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy‑industrial projects.
- Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
