Manufacturing Engineering Planner

Blue Origin is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Planner to join our Operations team, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This role will support the New Glenn sub‑assembly processes and be responsible for translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.

As a Manufacturing Planner, you will:

  • Apply knowledge of aerospace manufacturing through maintenance of the design and configuration integrity of complex components, subassemblies and installations.
  • Perform a hands‑on engineering liaison role between our design, test, operations teams and customers.
  • Drive producibility excellence by identifying, developing, and deploying designs and methodologies that improve operational excellence through work instructions, quality, cost, design and process enhancements.
  • Support the manufacturing floor in assembly, compliance to engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.
  • Investigate root causes of discrepancies and implement preventative/corrective actions.
  • Support the product through initial design release and operational gated reviews by evaluating and aiding in the development of required artifacts.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment and materials into part and build plan development; authorize in‑build redlines and recommend changes to improve the design.
  • Work hands‑on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Exercise strong coordination and project management skills to track, manage, and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Operate decisively, lead, and make forward progress in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or trade school diploma in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum 3 years of related work experience.
  • 1 + years of relevant coating manufacturing experience. Hardware and chemical manufacturing experience with fluid systems and mechanical systems, including assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning processes, non‑destructive testing, machining, welding, surface coatings, harness/cable routings, or composite structures.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems, and experience working to manufacturing plans and schedules.
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of experience developing manufacturing plans and schedules.
  • Familiarity implementing new or improved tooling to aid manufacture, assembly and acceptance testing.
  • Experience utilizing 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E & Catia preferred).

Compensation Range For WA applicants: $34.39 – $48.14 per hour.
