- Enjoy operating electron microscopes and the challenge of examining each new sample.
- Enjoy communicating with people and helping them improve their microscopy skills.
- Enjoy organizing microscopy workshops and schools, including program preparation, instructor coordination, and ensuring smooth execution.
- Good at identifying possible improvements in the instruments you use, discussing them with others, and working with a design team to make them happen.
- Have an eye for detail and aesthetic appeal, leading to visually engaging teaching and marketing materials.
- Work with R&D, test-field, and production to generate leading results for conferences, publications, and marketing materials.
- Work with sales to offer the right solutions/configurations to customers.
- Support the business unit manager to develop a product configurator and price list that guides sales through the first steps in the sales process and allows a smooth transition into production.
- Help sales and R&D to define the customizations needed to develop the customer solution.
- Communicate and track customer requirements within the organization and be the first contact for customers.
- Develop specifications and requirements for new product developments and be an integral team member in new product innovations.
- Publication record in one or more of these areas: aberration‑corrected high spatial resolution STEM; 4D STEM/ptychography; microanalysis using EELS (EDXS is a plus); ultra‑high energy resolution EELS; stable operation at low and high temperatures, and operando experiments.
- Ph.D. related to the above topics (or M.S. with 3‑5 years of experience).
- Good writing skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of work time.
