Field Engineer – Manson Construction Co.

Pay Range$65,000.00 – $ per year.
SummaryThis position is part of the Project Management Team, providing onsite engineering support, quality control, construction management assistance, land surveys, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop project work element plans and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Coordinate project activities with superintendents, foremen, craft workers, and subcontractors
- Use Computer‑Aided Drafting to analyze lift equipment capabilities and depict work method sequencing
- Perform critical path scheduling and 3‑week look‑ahead scheduling
- Review designs, drawings, and engineering data from consultants and vendors for conformance with project plans and specifications, identifying conflicts
- Investigate and research needed permanent and consumable material items, equipment, and tools
- Inspect newly delivered permanent materials for compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate project activities with client representatives and other stakeholders
- Design falsework
- Monitor operations of Manson and subcontractors
- Maintain daily operations and quality control reports
- Manage project photographic records
- Provide general project support
- Ensure compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct
- Practice and promote safe work standards to maintain an Incident‑and‑Injury‑Free environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
May directly supervise engineering interns.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field
- 0–4 years of construction or engineering experience in heavy civil or marine construction
- Experience with scheduling, estimating, and project management software (HCSS & Primavera) preferred
Main office is in Seattle, WA. Projects typically range from Ferndale to Port Angeles, with occasional work in Alaska, Hawaii, and Oregon.
Physical DemandsField position requiring frequent travel and work on construction sites. Must wear PPE, stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools, and reach with hands and arms. Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Ability to navigate stairs, ladders, gangways, and floating vessels. Noise level moderate to loud. Sit for extended periods may be required.
