Geosyntec is seeking an experienced Water Resources Geologist / Hydrogeologist to join our Seattle, WA office. As a key member of our Water Resources practice, you will work on complex projects involving hydrogeology, water supply management, and water rights permitting. Our Water Resources group works on complex projects ranging from water supply development, water supply management, water rights, mining hydrogeology, regulatory permitting, and source water protection, across the Pacific Northwest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell‑manage‑do culture, so you will work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.

Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Lead and manage regional and local scale hydrogeologic analyses for water supply management, regulatory compliance and new source development;
  • Design and implement field programs and studies of aquifer systems;
  • Oversee and manage the installation and testing of groundwater supply wells (and monitoring wells);
  • Support and manage aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) and surface recharge basin projects
  • Lead and support permitting and regulatory compliance projects, including water rights;
  • Consultation and interaction with client representatives and other project stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and the public;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Task‑manager and project‑manager responsibility for scoping, performing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
  • Provide support for business development, new and existing client interaction, lead generation, and proposal development;
  • Attend and publish prominent industry conferences; and
  • Recruiting, supervising, and mentoring junior staff;
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental or related engineering discipline with emphasis on water resources. (required)
  • Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.). (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 7+ years of direct hydrogeology consulting experience working on water resources projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Experience with project management and business development. (required)
  • Excellent leadership and detail‑orientation skills. (required)
  • Experience with design and implementation of field hydrogeology programs in glacial, basalt, and clastic aquifer systems (required)
  • Familiarity with numerical modeling of groundwater flow and well test analysis. (required)
