The Role

Door Dash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Emerging Fraud engineering team. This team focuses on assessing fraud risks for new business lines, implementing crucial fraud controls, and developing customized fraud solutions for consumers, merchants, and dashers that align with the existing Door Dash experience.

As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with product, design, and operations partners to define the roadmap to build anti-fraud mechanisms with minimal friction. You will manage a team of talented backend engineers to build advanced detection and fraud prevention solutions and solve challenging technical problems.

  • Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend engineers delivering user-friendly engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team s roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap
  • Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 5+
  • Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
  • Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team
We re Excited About You Because You Have…
  • BS, M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
  • Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
  • Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
  • Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
  • Growth mindset - you re eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
  • Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you ll need to help the team evolve
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation details are provided during the recruitment process. The national base pay range for this position in the United States is $193,800—$285,000 USD. Base salary is localized by work location. In addition to base salary, there are opportunities for equity grants. Door Dash offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health benefits, 401(k) with employer matching, parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off and paid sick leave, and more.

Paid time off details: for salaried roles, flexible PTO plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year; for hourly roles, vacation and sick time accrue according to standard schedules.
