Toole Design Group in Seattle, WA is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Engineer starting in Summer 2026

A Day in the Life of an Engineer

You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You support an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as AutoCAD in order to fulfill production work on your projects.

You will share your knowledge with staff and clients, to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.

Your job can sometimes be challenging, but you get to work with a close-knit team that is passionate about the work and the communities that you serve.

We are targeting a salary range of $77,000 to $87,000 for this position.

Qualifications of an Engineer
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation or civil engineering or a related field
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Certification (FE)
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD)
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Specific knowledge of roadway geometric design or streetscape design
  • Having a strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design is preferred
It would be a plus if you have any of the following
  • Familiarity with design software (Civil 3D, GEOPAK, or InRoads)
  • Prior experience at a consulting firm, public entity, non-profit or higher learning institution
  • A broad knowledge base in street design and urban multimodal planning
  • Proficiency using Excel for data analysis
  • Experience conducting public outreach and engagement
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and multi-phased projects
