Position: Building Information Model (BIM) Strategist

LMN is seeking an outstanding candidate for the role of BIM Strategist to lead and advance the firm’s design technology systems. This position is responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and technical support of office-wide BIM platforms. The BIM Strategist will play a key role in helping the firm leverage design technologies effectively, supporting LMN’s continued leadership in innovative design solutions.

LMN’s primary documentation tool is Autodesk’s Revit. McNeel’s Rhino and Grasshopper are frequently used in the design phases and for select documentation using the Rhino Inside Revit plug‑in. Most projects work in Autodesk’s Construction Cloud (Forma) environment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain office-wide BIM and design technology systems.
  • Explore the future of design technology and strategize means to improve productivity (with an emphasis on AI assist).
  • Provide general project support (BIM execution plans, project kick‑off and setup, Helpdesk).
  • Liaison with LMN’s Autodesk reseller and work with Autodesk to resolve software issues.
  • Ensure that project models are set‑up and maintained according to firm standards.
  • Maintain LMN’s Autodesk Construction Cloud account and project hubs.
  • Maintain firm BIM standards and documentation.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of Revit families.
  • Maintain current Revit add‑ins (Auto Turn, Bluebeam, Enscape, Guardian, Ideate, Pirros, PyRevit, Rhino Inside Revit and Revolution Design) in concert with the LMN IT group.
  • Provide leadership to the firm’s Revit support group.
  • Provide Revit and add‑in training.
  • Interface with the LMN IT group, assist in hardware benchmarking, and provide forecasts of design technology related expenditures.
  • Interface with LMN Tech Studio to foster integration of emerging design technologies with the design technology production platform.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Five years of experience in architecture, engineering or construction related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit and a majority of the Revit add‑ins mentioned above.
  • Aptitude for programming and customizing Revit API preferred.
  • Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Autodesk 3ds Max, and AutoCAD. Visual Basic, Dynamo and/or Script Writing a plus.
Office & Hybrid Hours

LMN employees collaborate in‑office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Fridays are hybrid workdays that allow employees to work in the office, from home, or any location they choose. Core work hours are from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm and provide flexibility for employees to structure their schedules around personal commitments and commuting.

Compensation

This is a salaried position with a pay range of $90,000 - $120,000. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
