Revit Designer (Electrical/Mechanical) — Mission‑Critical Data Centers
Location:
Remote
Schedule:
Mon–Fri, 8 hours/day
Contract:
Up to 24 months, potential conversion
Team:
High‑performing MEP BIM group delivering complex, global data center projects
Help shape next‑gen, mission‑critical facilities. You’ll model, coordinate, and document Electrical/Mechanical systems in Revit for large‑scale data centers—solving tough design problems, collaborating across trades, and raising the quality bar on every submittal.
What you’ll do- Design and develop Electrical/Mechanical building systems for data centers; build and maintain detailed Revit BIM models
- Produce construction documents at speed and quality; iterate as scopes evolve
- Lead/participate in multi‑trade coordination & clash detection
- Update legacy models and studies; maintain standards and QA/QC
- Support information exchange across internal and external partners and manage concurrent projects across regions
We recently hired a Revit Designer who excelled because they could blend hands‑on electrical design, deep Revit expertise, and real‑world field perspective. Applicants who highlight similar strengths will stand out:
Technical excellence3>- 4+ years electrical design with Revit, including higher‑level Revit management (templates, families, standards)
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency; experience creating families, schedules, and details to enterprise standards
- Experience producing photometric plans and verifying energy code via tools like AGi
32/com Check (big plus for quality + compliance)
- 8+ years as a journeyman electrician (low‑voltage, distribution, controls, NEC/OSHA compliance) — brings buildability and safety awareness to BIM deliverables
- Cross‑discipline coordination experience for hospitals, office buildings, parking structures, and large developments (ready for the complexity of data centers)
- Ability to interpret photos/videos to develop one‑line diagrams and support power studies (e.g., SKM workflows)
- Experience as a Revit/BIM manager: onboarding designers, training teams, standardizing processes, and managing content platforms (e.g., BIM 360, HIVE)
Tip for applicants:
In your resume/profile, surface specific Revit wins (e.g., “built 50+ parametric families,” “cut clash tickets by 30%”), field‑to‑BIM lessons (NEC‑driven decisions, constructability feedback), and any team enablement (training, standards). Include a mini project list with system scope and your role—this really helped our recent hire shine.
- 2+ years designing Electrical Building Systems or Mechanical/Plumbing for mission‑critical or complex facilities
- 2+ years using Revit to produce BIM models & construction drawings (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Working knowledge of MEP codes & safety regulations
- Strong coordination, documentation, and problem‑solving skills; able to thrive in fast timelines
- Data center design/construction experience
- Revit family content development
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools, Procore
- Fully remote flexibility (Seattle: occasional onsite meetings)
- High‑impact, globally scaled projects
- Long runway (contract up to 24 months) + potential to convert
Apply with a portfolio or sample sheets that showcase families you’ve built, coordination views, and code‑driven design decisions. (A brief project list helps!)
