Pedagogical Leadership

• Guide the ongoing development of the school’s Reggio Emilia–informed pedagogy
• Support teachers in observation, documentation, and reflection
• Encourage inquiry-based learning, project work, and the hundred languages of children
• Facilitate ongoing pedagogical dialogue among educators

• Mentor teachers as co-researchers alongside children
• Provide classroom observation, coaching, and reflective feedback
• Foster a culture of collaboration, reflection, and professional growth

• Build strong relationships with families through communication, dialogue, and school tours
• Support admissions and enrollment in partnership with the leadership team
• Help families understand and engage with the school’s philosophy and learning approach
• Collaborate with leadership on school operations and program development
  
  Ensure classrooms maintain nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environments
• Translate educational vision into clear systems, documentation, and practices that support the teaching team

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in early childhood education
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach
• Leadership experience mentoring and supporting educators
• Strong understanding of child development
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Applicants without prior experience and demonstrated knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach will not be considered.

The ideal candidate believes deeply in the competence and capability of children, views teachers as researchers and collaborators, and approaches leadership with humility, curiosity, and reflection. This role is best suited for someone who finds joy in pedagogical dialogue, mentoring teachers, studying children’s thinking, and building meaningful partnerships with families.

Salary Range
$80,000 – $90,000 annually depending on experience and pedagogical leadership background.

• This role is similar to the Pedagogical Coordinator’s role found in Reggio Emilia schools, serving as the pedagogical leader for teachers, children, and families.
• Our organization includes both Christian and non-sectarian schools, and the Director must be able to work respectfully and effectively within both environments.
• Due to the specialized pedagogical nature of this role, priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in Reggio Emilia–informed programs.
