Position

Summary

Under the supervision of an Associate Professor in the School of Education and Information Studies, the Research Coordinator provides support for behavioral science research studies involving human subjects. Activities include taking a lead role on the coordination of one or more school‑based research projects with community partners, including the development and monitoring of research procedures; responsibility for quality assurance systems to accomplish research goals;

contribution to the analysis of research study results and the preparation of reports for review boards, funders and publication. This position will primarily support the implementation trial of a behavioral‑management intervention (RUBIES) for autistic students who exhibit externalizing behaviors  study will evaluate a multi‑level leadership implementation strategy to support RUBIES called Helping Educational Leaders Mobilize Evidence (HELM) in public schools.

This individual will need to be located in Seattle, Washington to conduct research on the schools in Washington.

Qualifications
  • At least two years of related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
  • Experience coordinating school based and/or community based research involving human subjects. (Required)
  • Experience working with autistic individuals. (Required)
  • Experience conducting research interviews. (Required)
  • Experience developing, editing, administering, and tracking electronic surveys. (Required)
  • Experience working with public schools. (Required)
  • Experience conducting focus groups and qualitative data coding. (Required)
  • Experience assisting in grant reporting, IRB submissions, and protocol development. (Required)
  • Experience collaborating with district‑level leadership or community‑based partners. (Required)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with study participants, educators, administrators, and community partners. (Required)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. (Required)
  • Knowledge of software applications including proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Access), REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS, NVivo, R. (Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, summaries, and technical reports. (Required)
  • Knowledge of human subjects research regulations and IRB procedures, including ethical considerations in school‑based research. (Preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating sound judgment and problem‑solving skills. (Preferred)
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness when engaging with diverse populations, including neurodiverse participants and multilingual communities. (Preferred)
