Position SummarySeattle Central College Counseling Department is seeking to hire dedicated part-time faculty members across disciplines, who have demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Part-time faculty will teach Human Development Course 101 (HDC 101):
Orientation to College Success. Successful applicants may be invited to an interview at Seattle Central College. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.
The salary range for part time faculty is $7,110.33 - $10,649.33 (P1: A1- E7). Target start rate of pay for this position is $7,110.33 - $8,226.33 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter).

What You Will Be Working On- Demonstrate ability and commitment to teach the Counseling Department's Human Development Course (HDC 101) on College Success Skills
- Participate in opportunities for collaborative curriculum adaptation.
- Complete institutional progress surveys, utilize Starfish retention tools, and proactively outreach to students in order to encourage engagement and success.
- Attend human development course training and participate in FYE teaching community.
- Follow established course outlines.
- Maintain and follow standard course syllabus and Canvas shell, generate lesson plans, and assess learning of course objectives developed by faculty counselors.
- Provide timely feedback to students, maintain accurate records, submit course evaluations, and follow Seattle Central College academic guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required.
