St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks a full-time Elementary 5th Grade teacher for the remainder of the 2025‑26 school year, with anticipation of job renewal upon mutual agreement. This is a self‑contained role as part of our primary team but will be responsible for all Elementary Level Grade content. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates’ strengths.

STCA is a Preschool‑8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. The school currently serves 150 students ages 3‑14, 35% of whom receive free or reduced lunch. Families commute from over 34 zip codes and over 60% receive tuition assistance. The staff (the Dream Team) has about 35 team members and is expanding along with enrollment.

• Teach math, literacy, language arts and writing, science, social studies, and religion classes for 5th‑grade students.
• Collaborate with other homeroom teachers, share or exchange instruction, and participate in the PLC process.
• Support students of varying ability levels and foster their academic and faith development.
• Utilize educational technology in the classroom.
• Engage with students, families, and colleagues in a diverse, Catholic setting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a similar field (Master’s preferred).
• Understanding and genuine appreciation of children.
• Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith‑centered community.
• Preferred active Catholic.
• Current Washington (or out of state) teaching certificate, or ability to obtain one, with a (preferably) K‑5 (minimum) endorsement.

$37,000 – $60,000 annually, determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills, experience, degrees, and certifications.
