Position: Grades 1-8 After School Teacher )
Bright Water Waldorf School is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted teacher, committed to the ideals of Waldorf education and wanting to serve as an After School Teacher for our grade school (ages 6 - 14 years old) students. We are a group of dedicated faculty and staff committed to Waldorf principles, mindful land stewardship, and providing our students with opportunities for dynamic learning within an inclusive community.

Bright Water Waldorf School is an independent school serving students Pre-K to 8th grade with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, experiential, and academically rigorous education, engaging students’ heads, hands, and hearts. Our home is within the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington in Seattle’s Chinatown International District neighborhood. We are called toward a new future and are orienting our school’s evolution toward equity and community.

Key Responsibilities
- Leads an inclusive and engaging after school program for a mixed age group of grade school students from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Plans and leads art projects, movement games, or other Waldorf-aligned after school activities
- Accurately logs student attendance
- Responding to parents/caregivers in a timely manner
- Provides detailed, written incident or injury reports
- Continually interested in collaborating with colleagues to create an environment of joy and belonging for children and their families
- Must be 18 years or older
- At least one year of experience working with grade school students aged 6 - 14 years
- Familiarity with Waldorf Education or openness to learn
- Commitment to equity; anti-racist, gender-inclusive environments; and evaluation of systemic privilege and oppression with openness to personal and institutional growth
Hours: Part Time from 2:45 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. with 2 hours of preparation time per week, additional meetings as needed
Compensation: $35.00/hour for teaching and preparation, $25.00/hour for meetings
Benefits: Sick Leave – 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
Location: On campus at Bright Water Waldorf School, 1414 S Weller Street, Seattle, WA 98144.
