Position Summary

The Camps Supply Lead will assist the Supply Supervisor in ensuring summer camp programming runs smoothly by preparing, inventorying, organizing, maintaining, and distributing camp supplies and assisting with overall operations for all camp locations. This position assists with purchasing by tracking, recording, and communicating supply needs, as well as leading a team of Supply Assistants. The Camps Supply Lead will also assist with preparing for the summer season prior to the start of camps.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure camps supply needs are met by:

  • Assist Supply Supervisor with supply inventory, communication, receiving, recording, and tracking purchases
  • Monitor and maintain supply systems across all camp sites, including physical storage as well as online databases and resources
  • Oversee and maintain the efficient organization and cleanliness of work and storage spaces, including the distribution of camp materials for both on and off-site locations
  • Coordinate supply preparation and distribution to various camp locations in the greater Seattle area, including the set up and tear down of camp locations
  • Lead the transportation of supplies to various camp locations in the greater Seattle area, including driving Pac Sci owned 15-passenger vans and assuming the safety of people and materials in the van
  • Direct the daily workflow of and provide coaching for a small team of Camps Supply Assistants to accomplish short-term and long-term tasks
  • Communicate supply needs and changes with other camp staff, across all camp locations
  • Assist camp admin with daily camp operations including supporting program staff, communicating with relevant Pacific Science Center departments, and implementing all policies and procedures
  • Assist with camper supervision, both inside and outside of the classroom, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of (or the ability to learn):

  • Inventory and receiving practices, purchasing practices preferred
  • Project management and cross-team communication skills
  • OSHA safety best practices
  • The ability to learn basic science knowledge
  • Customer service best practices

Skills:

  • Maintain rigorous organizational systems with an exceptionally high level of accuracy and precision
  • Work and communicate effectively and respectfully with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent customer service skills; approachable, with a welcoming body language and demeanor
  • Flexible and able to adapt in rapidly changing, fast-paced environments
  • Multitask, prioritize, and organize with sound judgement on time sensitive projects

Ability to:

  • Self-motivate, work independently, as well as with a team and act as a leader of supply assistants
  • Take initiative, learn and apply new content, policies and procedures
